Stallion Information:  Connor

Bringing interesting things together to achieve something special is the idea of successful breeders. Eduard Struve followed this idea and bred his mare Korrada, full sister of the stallion Corrado, to the then six-year-old Casall, in whom he recognized a promising sire early on. The result of these breeding considerations is Connor - a large-framed stallion with a particularly strong back, long-legged, with a correct foundation. His movements are elastic, ground covering and tactful, whereby his canter deserves special attention.

In free jumping he has exceptional ability, caution and quality, while still being impressed by his surroundings, similar to his sire in his younger years.

Connor's dam is the full sister of Corrado, who was successful in international show jumping under Bo Kristoffersen and Franke Sloothaak between 1991 and 1997 and won numerous Grand Prix such as in Leuwaarden, Dortmund, Aarhus, Neumünster and Kiel. He succeeded in establishing his own stallion line in Holstein and over two decades produced top international horses such as Corrada (Peter Charles), Cosima (Markus Fuchs), Think Twice (Leopold van Asten), Clinton (Dirk Demeersman) and most recently Corradina (Carsten-Otto Nagel).

Connor's sire Casall la Silla has developed enormously in the stable of the Olympic bronze medallist from Hong Kong, Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, in 2010 he won the Grand Prix in Falsterbo as well as Rotterdam and was able to win the World Cup show jumping competition in S'Hertogenbosch. Also in 2011 Casall knew how to convince with his performance. With victories in the Global Champions Tour in Hamburg and Monte Carlo and World Cup jumping in Lyon he rounded off his series of successes. In terms of breeding, Casall la Silla can already be classified as a positive sire. He has 26 licensed sons and 30 state premium mares to his credit. In addition, he sired Vontessa VA, the Champion Mare of the Elite Mare Show in Elmshorn in 2008 and Catch it, the Reserve Champion of the 2009 licensing, who achieved an unprecedented top price of 450,000 Euros. In 2011 he again produced the Champion Mare with Akimba, furthermore the State Champion of 4-year-old show jumpers Cascor, the most expensive auction horse in Neumünster Chantilly and the Reserve Champion of the licensing Cascadello, who was auctioned for the record price of 600,000 Euros as well as the most expensive unlicensed stallion.

The mare line 6879 is one of the most powerful in Holstein breeding. Already in the 50's this line found much attention by the successes of the mares Baden (Hans Evers) and Original Holsatia (Fritz Thiedemann). Later it was Landlord (Breido Graf zu Rantzau, Ludger Beerbaum) and Lausbub (Achaz von Buchwaldt). Today they are Aquino under Vladimir Beletskiy, who was previously ridden by Franke Sloothaak, and Cassiato, winner of World Cup tests under the Australian Harley Brown.

At his stallion performance test, Connor did an excellent job as expected. He received a 9.25 in the free jumping test and a 10.0 in the show jumping course, giving him a jumping index of 130.54 points and second place in the show jumping standings.
