Stallion information: Corrado I

The 25-year-old Corrado I is already considered the line founder of the Holstein breed. The list of his successes and that of his offspring seems endless. Therefore, it is hardly possible to give more than just an excerpt from his career.

Corrado I was licensed in Elmshorn in December 1988 due to his pedigree and his tremendous jumping ability. He also convinced at the stallion performance test at the jump. He received a score of 10 for both free jumping and jumping. First Thieß Luther and then Bo Kristoffersen presented Corrado I in tests for young show jumpers. As a 6-year-old he was a finalist at the 1991 Bundeschampionat in Munich, and as a 7-year-old he already achieved his first international successes. After that he was ridden by Franke Sloothaak, who was very successful with him internationally. In 1993 they won the Grand Prix of Leewarden and came second in the Nations Cup of La Baule. In 1994 they won the World Cup qualifier in Dortmund and were third in the Nations Cup in Aachen. In 1996 they won the World Cup Jumping in Aarhus and the Grand Prix in Neumünster and Kiel.

He also passes on his tremendous jumping ability to his children. In the meantime he has a large number of offspring who are internationally successful at the highest level in show jumping competitions. These include Classic H with Helena Persson, Cher with Piet Raymakers, Corrada with Peter Charles, Cosima with Markus Fuchs, Cosmos Star with Evelyn Blaton, Caramia with Espen Johannsen, Canyon with Tim Grubb, Think Twice with Leopold von Asten and Cabrio with Felix and Toni Hassmann. The most successful Corrado I offspring in 2004 and 2005 was the stallion Clinton with Dirk Demeersman. He took fourth place in the individual classification at the Olympic Games in Athens and was second in the Grand Prix of Aachen the following year. In 2008 it was the mare Corradina who became "Rider of the Year" under Carsten Otto-Nagel and won team bronze and the silver medal in the individual classification at the European Show Jumping Championships in 2009.

26 sons of Corrado I have been licensed so far. He has 167 successful offspring in advanced (S) level show jumping in Germany. In addition to Corrado I, his full brother Corrado II and the stallion Chellano Z by Contender out of a full sister of Corrado I were licensed in Zangersheide, where he is used as a stud stallion. He also causes a sensation as a first-class show jumper. In the 2004 Sires of the World series, the stallion took second place overall.

The mare line of Corrado, 6879, already produced a number of very successful horses. Carlina (World Cup Show Jumping 2009 with Pius Schwizer), Cassito (World Cup Show Jumping 2009 with Harley Brown) and Landlord (Olympic Games 1988 with Ludger Beerbaum) belong to this line as well as Lausbub (Derby winner with Achaz von Buchwaldt), Fair Lady (Ralf Runge) and Baden (Hans Hermann Evers, Olympic Games 1952), Baden-Baden as well as Original Holsatia (both Fritz Thiedemann).
