Quintero La Silla is the first licensed son of Quantum. The large-framed stallion with an extremely strong back is considered one of the special jumping talents in the Holsteiner Verband's stock. Caution, power and jumping quality characterize this sporty sire.
At his stallion performance test he was the best jumping stallion in his test group with 144 index points. He was 5 and 6 years old with Lars Bak Andersen qualified for the Bundeschampionat, third at the Landeschampionat in Segeberg, 5 years old at the World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken on the 5th and 6 years old on the 7th place.
Since the beginning of 2005, the stallion has borne the name and colours of the Mexican stud farm La Silla. The owner of the stud, Alfonso Romo, is the sponsor of Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and supports the development of Quintero La Silla in an excellent way. In 2007, under Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, he won the Schleswig-Holstein State Championships in show jumping, in addition to victories and placings in the Grand Prix of Falsterbo, Paderborn, Munich and a 2nd place in the World Cup show jumping competition in Helsinki. In 2008 Quintero La Silla continued his career impressively with successes in Grand Prix and Nations' Cups at the shows in Bremen, Neumünster, Aachen, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Geneva, among others. In 2009 he repeated his successes in Grand Prix in Leipzig, Bremen, Hagen and in the Nations Cup in Aachen. In 2010 he confirmed his exceptional quality as a show jumper with victories in Paris and Geneva as well as many top placings in World Cup jumping competitions.
With Quintero La Silla there is the interesting connection of the stallions Quidam de Revel, Caletto II, Calando I, Farnese and Ladykiller xx. Quintero La Silla's sire Quantum is a son of Quidam de Revel, who himself has been highly successful in sport. He is one of the exceptional sport horses of the French breed. His sire Jalisco, just like his grandfather Almé, is one of the most prominent show jumping sires in France.
Quintero La Silla comes from the highly respected line 569. His dam, the state premium mare Ibara, is a daughter of Chamonix who is successful in the USA. Quintero La Silla's grandfather Calando I is endowed with great fighting spirit and performance and has proven himself in international show jumping. Due to the successes of his offspring, which include Careful with Eveline Blaton, Cunjeo with Karen Cudmore or Calaro with Andreas Ripke as well as Cagliostro with Niklas Arvidsson, Calando I can be classified as a jumper sire of special class.
After the Quintero son Quint was sold to a Saudi Arabian buyer for 200,000 Euros at the auction of licensed stallions in Neumünster in 2005, another exceptional Quintero jumping stallion, Que Guapo, achieved an absolute top price of 250,000 Euros at the same location in 2007. In 2008, another son of Quintero La Silla, Quarz, was licensed and in 2009, Quick Fire was the II. Reserve winner of the licensing in Neumünster.
