One of the last Holstein mares of the famous sire Cor de la Bryere. This beautiful mare is clearly marked by this exceptional stallion and passes this on to her foals. The dam line is spoilt for success in show jumping up to medium (M**) level as well as in medium (M**) dressage. The very best attitude and the enormous ability makes these Holsteiner show jumpers to high performers that are "easy to handle". Out of F-Cosmea there have already been premium colts and championship foals that have gone and are going their way successfully in sport.

Already at the stallion performance test Cardino stood out positively in the jumping competitions. Several times he received a score of 9.0. In the final of 6-year-old show jumpers at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf, he placed sixth with Bo Kristoffersen. From the age of seven he was ridden by Lars Bak Andersen, who won several advanced (S) level jumping competitions with him.

His sire Carthago Z ranks fifth nationwide in the 2009 season with a breeding value of 160 index points in the integrated breeding value estimation/jumping.

His career with Jos Lansink at Zangersheide Stud in Lanaken was accompanied by extraordinary successes. In addition to many victories and placings in internationally important show jumping competitions, he took part in the Olympic Games twice in Atlanta (eleventh place in the individual classification) and in Sydney. He won the Bro

nce medallist with the Dutch team at the European Championships in Hickstead and was second in the Grand Prix of Aachen in 2000.

When Carthago returned to Holstein at the age of 14, he had fertilization problems and could no longer be used for breeding. Thus the role of passing on the valuable genes of Carthago in breeding falls to his sons. So far, 33 sons have been licensed nationwide, 15 of them in Holstein.

Cardino's dam is the state premium mare Alaska, a daughter of the stallion Landgraf I. She has produced three daughters so far, all of whom were awarded top prizes at the Elite Mare Show. The mare Cimberly by Contender out of a Caretino-daughter was sold in 2004 via the autumn auction to the USA, where she placed third at the 2006 Young Jumper Finals. In 2007 she was a finalist at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf under Johannes Ehning. The great-granddam Ibiza by Napoleon produced two internationally very successful show jumpers: Manderin by Magnat II and Cooper by Cor de la Bryère. Manderin had international success with Breido Graf zu Rantzau and Jürgen Kraus, Cooper with Dirk Schröder.

At the 2005 fall auction in Neumünster, his daughter Cordina was the most expensive horse sold for 250,000 Euros. With Creme de la Creme he again delivered one of the most expensive horses at the spring auction 2006. In December 2007, the Cardino son Cardiolan achieved a price of 700,000 Euros at the P.S.I. auction in Ankum.

With Tabaluga II, Cardino was the winning mare at the Elite Mare Show 2006 in Elmshorn. At the Bundeschampionat 2009 Holger Wulschner placed with the Cardino son Caminho in the top places in the qualifications for 6-year-old show jumpers. Offspring such as Constanzia with Markus Merschformann, Clicksem with Florian Meyer zu Hartum and Calbay with Mikael Forsten were successful in the international youngster tours.
